To support business growth, we require an experienced and capable HR Advisor to join our Pakenham Victoria office, the role involves being the sole HR / Recruitment Advisor in Victoria with support provided from our Perth HR team.

Responsibilities of the role;

  • End to end recruitment of all blue and white collar roles to meet tight manning requirements.
  • Advise Management on correct recruitment procedures when hiring employees.
  • Provide advice and support in candidate selection to Project Managers.
  • Liaison with external agencies to seek talented workers when required. 
  • Prepare employment contracts and letters of offer.
  • Ensure Human Resources matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements
  • Support and develop recruitment campaigns
  • Work in consultation with Managers and employees to ensure proactive and early intervention and injury management practices.
  • Coordinate staff rehabilitation and return to work programs

To be successful in this role, you will possess;

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to recruit in a fast paced environment.
  • Understanding Workers compensation systems and processes.
  • Cert IV Human Resources or higher
  • Ability to communicate and work with management, clients, suppliers and the community
  • Contribution towards high performing teams
  • Ability to work autonomously

Your responsibilities for the role will include but are not limited to:

  • Act as a safety culture change agent by taking a leadership role in promoting, respecting and complying with the health, safety and environmental practices of the organisation.
  • Maintain and improve the MACA's focus on safety and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • The HSE Manager will be required to lead the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Health, Safety, Environment practice within the scope of AS/NZS 4801, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards across the organisation as a whole.
  • Conduct risk assessments and assist in implementing appropriate controls.
  • Key stakeholder in identifying and implementing process improvement systems and methods.
  • Monitor and advise on OHS and environmental legislation and statutory requirements by Identifying industry standards and best practice, along with legislative change and external trends.
  • Preparation of HSE reports, procedures and management plans including the development and implementation of HSE systems.
  • Assist with accident/incident investigations.
  • Establish, maintain and conduct audits to monitor performance and suitability of the MACA management system.
  • Gather and collate the necessary records to verify the quality of the management system.
  • Monitor, assess and implement strategies to minimise LTI's and TRIFRs.
  • Strive to establish a culture encompassing the vision and core values of MACA.

To be successful in this role, you will possess;

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar position
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or higher
  • High level working knowledge of HSE, quality and continuous improvement principles, practice and legislation
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement across the business through process improvement methodologies
  • Proven leadership and management experience
  • Experience dealing with change management in safety culture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility for regular site visits

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role is focused on providing hands on leadership and direction to the Project Crew ensuring objectives are met on time and safely, experience with Vic Roads or other road maintenance contracts would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Management of all drainage, earthworks, road and bridge construction.
  • Meeting project deadlines and ensuring HSEQ standards.
  • Oversee the projects maintenance activities.
  • Inshore the project objectives are meet  on time with respect to cost, safety and quality are achieved.
  • Oversee daily pre-start meetings and  weekly toolbox meetings.
  • Actively identify and take corrective action to eliminate or control hazardous work conditions.
  • Liaise with MACA and Client management on a regular basis.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Minimum of 5  years' experience with similar projects
  • 5 years in drainage, road & bridge works and bulk earthworks experience within Australia
  • Excellent working knowledge of machinery capabilities and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a workforce
  • Commitment to safe working practices
  • Excellent verbal communication and leadership skills
