MACA’s Apprenticeship Program

Start your career the right way with a MACA Apprenticeship

MACA understands the apprentices of today are the future of our business. As an employer who puts safety and people first, MACA will provide the best possible training and support for you to gain a nationally recognised trade certificate.

These include:

  • HD Fitter (Mobile Plant)
  • Mechanical Fitter
  • Boilermaker
  • Auto Electrician

Completing your apprenticeship with MACA will give you the opportunity to explore different areas within mining, engineering, operations leadership and maintenance. Your structured apprenticeship will begin with the first 12 months working in our state-of-the-art workshop in Welshpool, with time allowed in between to complete your Tafe units. After completing your first year, you will then progress to working at one of our sites on two weeks on, one week off roster.

Requirements for Applying

To be successful in gaining one of our apprenticeship positions, the application must meet the following criteria:

  • Work experience with us
  • Completion of Year 10
  • Willingness to learn
  • Pride, passion and motivation
  • Commitment to completing a full-term apprenticeship (4 years)
  • A strong commitment to safe work practices
  • A valid driver’s license

Mature aged applicants and light vehicle mechanics seeking a trade upgrade are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidates will be required to meet our pre-employment criteria including National Police Clearance, medicals, drug and alcohol screening prior to an offer of employment being made.
