Mental Health First Aid Training at MACA

MACA has partnered with Beyond All Bounds to provide Accredited Mental Health First Aid courses to all employees.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based training course which gives people the skills and confidence to spot the warning signs, have supportive conversations with their co-workers and help guide them to professional health if needed.

MACA initially partnered with Beyond All Bounds in November 2020. Due to the overwhelming positive feedback from our people, we are pleased to be offering MHFA training to all employees once again.

The two-day course is facilitated by Ben, Founder of Beyond All Bounds, and will accredit participants as ‘Mental Health First Aiders’ who are a promoted resource and support at all MACA sites.

Last year, Doreen Puaha, MACA Trainer Assessor at Matilda Gold, completed the MHFA course and is now an Accredited Mental Health First Aider on site.

“All I can say is ‘wow’. I am so grateful that I was able to attend the 2 Day Course. What I really loved about Ben was the life skills he brought to the table, a very intelligent young man.”

“I have taken away so much to add to my basket of knowledge to use when needed. I have also learnt so much more about myself”, said Doreen.

In the upcoming months, we will provide more MHFA courses for all MACA employees. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive, inclusive and safe environment. We are pleased to be investing in the development of mental health first aid for our people and support those in need.
