To be successful in this role, you will possess:

We have opportunities available for experienced Blast Crew / Support Shotfirers to join our team.  Reporting to the Production Supervisor / OCE, you will be responsible for: -

  • On blast bench activities as directed by the shotfirer or nominated person;
  • Performing blast guard duties prior to blasting activity to ensure the safety of all personnel;
  • Assisting Supervisors to ensure drill and blast crews are fully utilised at all times;
  • Checking drilling activities to ensure drilling depths are correct and reporting any issues;
  • Handling storing and transporting explosives and accessories in accordance with regulations and safety standards;
  • Performing alternate duties on the mine site as directed by the Supervisor.

As the mining operator, MACA Mining will provide mining services to Carabella Resources at the new Bluff Coal project, located near the town of Bluff and approximately 20 kilometres east of Blackwater.

We have opportunities available for experienced Boilermakers to join our team.  Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for: -

  • Carrying out scheduled repairs of plant and equipment;
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment, determining when and what kind of maintenance is required;
  • Prioritising and completing unplanned maintenance tasks that require services as required;
  • Preparing, welding, installing, modifying and/or removing steel components as per applicable drawings, codes and other requirements;
  • Reading and interpreting detailed drawings;
  • Ensuring equipment and tools are well maintained; and
  • Ensuring apprentices have opportunities for on the job learning and training.

  • Operating WA600 Loader or similar, safely and to specifications and recommendations.
  • JSA's, Pre Starts, time sheets and other paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assisting Crusher maintenance personnel as required.
  • Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Supervisor.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • 2+ years' experience in loader operations.
  • Drivers Licence
  • EWP, SWH, Conf Space, Rigging highly regarded.
  • Experience operating Moxy highly regarded.
  • Experiences in Crushing & Screening environment highly regarded.
  • Ability to follow work instructions.
  • Ability to assess tasks and carry out work in a safe controlled manner.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and assist other areas when required.
  • High attention to detail.

  • Diagnosing, problem solving, fault finding and attending to breakdowns in the workshop or in-field in a timely manner;
  • Undertaking component change outs on all Liebherr, Komatsu, Hitachi and Caterpillar equipment;
  • Working in collaboration with the OEM to deliver high quality solutions and results;
  • Completing all maintenance records and documentation and recording the movement of spare parts;
  • Prioritising tasks to ensure deadlines are met and desired outcomes are achieved;
  • Performing other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

An opportunity has become available for an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our team.  Reporting to the Project Manager/SSE, you will be responsible for assisting in the effective implementation, monitoring and improvement of Occupational Health and Safety strategies, policies and procedures, ensuring legislative compliance and continuous improvement of MACA’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality performance.  You will: -

  • Take a leadership role in implementing and promoting the HSEQ Management Plan and Strategic Safety Plan;
  • Play a pivotal role in the implementation of Injury Management processes and HSEQ Standards and Procedures;
  • Establish, maintain and conduct audits and inspections to monitor performance and suitability of the management system;
  • Assist with the coordination of all functional safety issues including risk assessments, systems development and the maintenance of relevant records and reports;
  • Actively participate and contribute to the continuous improvement of MACA safe work practices / SOP’s;
  • Participate in incident investigations using ICAM methodology;
  • Drive a culture of safety and liaise with other departments in the achievement of the site's safety objectives.

An opportunity has become available for a highly effective Maintenance Superintendent to join our leadership team.  Reporting to the Project Manager/SSE, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Supervisors to effectively execute planned and corrective maintenance work in the field and the workshop on time and on budget.  This role will see you fostering a continuous improvement culture by identifying improvement initiatives to increase equipment availability and performance.  You will: -

  • Develop, implement and monitor maintenance plans to ensure optimal safety performance and productivity, maximising contract profitability and sustainability;
  • Leading team engagement and collaboration sessions to ensure the integration of ideas and activities can be optimised to drive sustainable value add to the organisation and operations;
  • Support day to day maintenance activities, providing direction to maintenance crews and Supervisors, ensuring effective shift handovers, prestart and toolbox meetings;
  • Communicate schedules to ensure equipment is maintained safely and in accordance with MACA policies and procedures;
  • Identify areas for improvement, assess training requirements and provide coaching and development opportunities for staff;
  • Lead and/or participate in incident investigations using ICAM methodology;

About the role:

As the mining operator, MACA Mining will provide mining services to Carabella Resources at the new Bluff Coal project, located near the town of Bluff and approximately 20 kilometres east of Blackwater.

An opportunity has become available for a highly effective Maintenance Supervisor to join our team.  Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the maintenance crews in carrying out corrective maintenance work in the field and workshop, delivering superior reliability and availability of equipment.  This role will see you fostering a team culture that is engaged to improve and deliver safe maintenance activities.  You will: 

  • Lead teams of trades’ personnel to deliver planned corrective and unplanned maintenance on heavy mobile equipment and light vehicles in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner;
  • Support day to day maintenance tasks, providing direction to maintenance crews, ensuring effective shift handovers, prestart and toolbox meetings;
  • Communicate schedules to ensure equipment is maintained safely and in accordance with MACA policies and procedures;
  • Plan, prioritise and execute unscheduled work resulting from breakdown or backlog as directed by the Maintenance Superintendent;
  • Identify areas for improvement, assess training requirements and provide coaching and development opportunities for staff;
  • Lead and/or participate in incident investigations using ICAM methodology;

  • Assist in the Development and implementation of survey plans to ensure the business meets production targets in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with statutory legislative requirements;
  • Provide timely and accurate survey support for the daily operations and ensure all routine production surveying tasks are carried out;

    • Survey mark-up of Planned development
    • Stockpile and dump pickups

    • Surface prism monitoring
  • Assist in producing weekly and monthly reports together with the preparation of statutory plans;

  • Assist in the delivery of short term, medium term and life of mine plan schedules & associated management plans;
  • Assist in the development of drill and blast plans, and weekly and monthly production plans and schedules;
  • Provide on-the-job engineering support and technical advice to Mine and Production Operation teams to ensure strong alignment between planning and execution;
  • Support the mine planning, drill and blast and development activities to ensure tonnage and grade targets are achieved safely, efficiently and to specification;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of operational improvements in the planning process to assist mine operations to maximise production efficiency and control costs;
  • Work proactively and flexibly with others to identify any potential cost savings and optimise output to meet operational requirements.
