King of The Hills Project

MACA Interquip
MACA Interquip (MIQ) recorded its first large EPC project win when it was awarded an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for Red 5’s King of The Hills (KOTH) gold mining development in Western Australia.

MIQ’s scope of works for KOTH included Engineering, Procurement, Bulk Earthworks, Civils, SMP and E&I Construction, Commissioning and Handover.

With over 25 years’ industry experience in construction, the MACA Interquip team successfully sourced and supplied an already manufactured, never installed, typical long lead 18MW installed power SAG Mill and Gyratory Crusher.

This resulted in a major project schedule win for Red 5, with the KOTH project remaining on schedule for first gold production in the June Quarter 2022.

Most notably, MACA Interquip successfully procured key items from across the globe at a time when the COVID pandemic was affecting global manufacturing and shipping.

A major focus was on the use of WA owned and operated fabrication companies, with the Engineering and Construction crew all WA based.

Total workforce on site at peak was in excess of 170 people.

Works were delivered safely and LTI free.

Amount: $150M
